Green Fleet and Transportation
AMZ Prep has committed to transitioning its entire delivery fleet to electric vehicles by 2040. This is not a distant aspiration. We are actively piloting EV delivery vehicles in select urban routes and partnering with carriers that operate electric and hybrid fleets.
Our transportation strategy also includes carrier selection based on emissions efficiency, SmartWay aligned shipping practices, and prioritizing intermodal rail where available for long haul routes between warehouse regions.

Energy Efficient Warehouse Operations
Every AMZ Prep facility is designed with energy efficiency at its core. Our warehouses use LED lighting systems with motion activation in low traffic zones, smart climate control that adjusts HVAC output based on occupancy and ambient temperature, and high efficiency insulation to reduce heating and cooling loads.
Select locations incorporate solar panel installations and participate in local renewable energy programs. As we expand, new warehouse builds are evaluated against green building standards before lease commitments are signed.

Sustainable Packaging and Waste Reduction
AMZ Prep uses AI powered Smart Cartonization to select the smallest possible box for every order. This technology analyzes product dimensions, fragility, and order composition to minimize void fill, reduce excess cardboard, and lower dimensional weight charges, which in turn reduces fuel consumption per package.
We run a carton reuse program where incoming shipping cartons in good condition are repurposed for outbound orders. Our packaging supply chain prioritizes recyclable materials, and we work with brands to implement custom sustainable packaging solutions including compostable mailers and paper based void fill.

Shipment Consolidation Through Middle Mile
AMZ Prep Middle Mile is a freight consolidation service that combines shipments from multiple sellers into full truckloads bound for Amazon fulfillment centers. Instead of each brand sending individual pallets via separate LTL carriers, generating multiple partially loaded trucks on the road, AMZ Prep fills an entire truck.
The result is fewer trucks on the road, fewer empty miles driven, and significantly lower per unit carbon emissions. Born Simple reported a 63 percent freight cost reduction using Middle Mile, a savings that directly correlates to fewer truck trips and reduced fuel consumption.

For every 1,000 shipments processed through AMZ Prep facilities, one tree is planted in regions across North America affected by deforestation, wildfires, and natural disasters.
